Obstetric Care
Private obstetric care can be tailored to meet the individual requirements of each woman. This for some may entail a private consultation and a 20 week fetal anomaly scan for others it may include full private antenatal care and delivery.
Most of the time the NHS provides excellent care during pregnancy and delivery. However, sometimes the care cannot fully meet your requirements. You may wish to have a consultant you know and trust delivering your baby or accommodating your chosen form of delivery. Our consultant Obstetrician Mr Anthony Abbas can offer individual consultations or a package of antenatal care to suit individual circumstances. He can look after all your antenatal care including all ultrasound scans and invasive procedures e.g. CVS/ amniocentesis required early in the pregnancy. You have 24 hour access, 7 days a week to your consultant to discuss concerns or worries however small they may appear. Your appointments can be tailored to match your schedule as much as possible including evening and weekends at The Avenue Clinic address. On the rare occasion that Mr Abbas is away, an emergency telephone number to a close Consultant colleague is always available.
Mr Abbas will deliver your baby either at The Portland Hospital for women and children, London.
The fees below indicate what you can expect to pay depending on how many weeks pregnant you are at the time of booking. As part of the booking we will ask for a deposit of £2500 to be paid at the beginning of your pregnancy. The final balance will be due before delivery.

Mr Abbas usually conducts the first consultation between 8 and 12 weeks of pregnancy. Detailed below are the services you can expect under the care of Mr Abbas
- Antenatal scans at 8,12,22 and 36 weeks booking and further appointments (usually 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 34, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 40+) or as required.
- 24 hour on-call for the whole of your pregnancy
- care in labour and delivery (normal, instrumental or caesarean)
- postnatal care and 6 week routine postnatal check
Not included in Antenatal Package:
- Hospital fees (antenatal admission or delivery)
- Anaesthetist fee
- Paediatrician fee
- Routine Antenatal profile (Haemoglobinopothy, glucose, syphilis, Rubella, hepatitis B&C, HIV, blood group and full blood count
